Undo and Redo
The History tool in the Beaver Builder editor allows you to reverse or reapply any recent changes made to a layout. This feature helps you manage edits efficiently while maintaining control over your design progress.
Accessing History
- Open the Tools menu in the Beaver Builder interface.
- Select History.
- A list of recorded actions will appear. Selecting any entry reverts the layout to that specific state.
When you choose an item in the list, that action and all items below it remain in the layout, while all items above it are removed.
Finalizing Changes
After reviewing or restoring items in the History panel:
- Select Done.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Publish
- Save as Draft
- Discard
Important Notes
- Publishing the page resets the history, removing previous restore points.
- Saving as Draft or Discarding retains the history, allowing you to revisit undo and redo options the next time you open the editor.
- To revert to a previously published version, use the Revisions feature in WordPress.
Keyboard Shortcuts
You can move backward and forward through the History list using familiar keyboard shortcuts.
Undo
- Mac: Command + Z
- Windows: Ctrl + Z
Redo
- Mac: Command + Shift + Z
- Windows: Ctrl + Shift + Z

Initial State
When Beaver Builder loads, the first entry listed in History is Draft created.
Whenever a page is published or saved, the history is cleared. The next editing session begins again with Draft created.
Reducing or Disabling History
You may reduce or disable History to improve site performance, particularly on large or heavily customized layouts. Adjust these settings in the Beaver Builder configuration area if required.
